How to place the furniture with rug placement?

To make everything look good in harmony in a living area, you may choose a rug large enough to sit fully or halfway under seats with any side chairs placed partially or fully on the rug. If you prefer to have a small rug, you have to arrange the seating an even distance from it.

Rug Placement in Dining Room

The best size for a rug to be placed under a dining table is like 60-70 cm wider than the table and in proportion to it, with chairs when people are seated. You can place a round rug under a round table to emphasise  the table’s shape and enhance the room’s overall design. That will help the focus point move in harmony.

Rug Placement in Bedroom

In bedrroms, you can choose smaller rugs. You can place them on each side or just to one side of the bed. That will create a soft, warm look and also you can feel warm on stepping on it when you get out of the bed.

To create luxury style look, you can place a large rug under the bed with a generous amount all visible at the foot and sides. Keep bedside tables off the rug to highlight the floor and enhance the feeling of space. But rugs under the bed keeps all the dust on them. Keep that in mind!

Rug Placement in Junior Bedrooms

Rugs colors can add softness, brightness to junior rooms. You can place  the rug slightly under the bed, to ensure little feet can step on them. If you have a shared bedroom with two beds, you can place the rug between the beds to visually connect them and create a central play space. Smaller round rugs can be placed  in baby rooms under or next to cribs. That makes the room look cozy and playful.
